Soft, slightly smoky field herbs, a hint of apple, guava, mango; complex, elegant, multi-faceted acidity; lemony, mineral flavour, guaranteed ageing potential with a surprisingly smooth drinking flow.

Lenzmark Wines

Markus and Lenz are united in their purpose of bringing Gruener Veltliner to the world as its pre-eminent grape variety and ambassador. Both partners have learned in their lives that in addition to working on the success of their own business, they must also fight for their region. They know that a higher cause is always needed to succeed, embedded in their community. Bob Mondavi himself has been living proof of this philosophy by always promoting Napa Valley alongside his own wines.
Markus and Lenz have known each other for almost 20 years – having experience in the world of fine wine and Gruener Veltliner in particular for 60 years. Lenz was the first in Austria to introduce Gruener Veltliner, featuring this grape very successfully in his home country’s first varietal range (Lenz Moser Selection in the early 1980s). He followed the advice of his grandfather, Prof. Dr. Lenz Moser III. who single-handedly promoted the Gruener to its greatness through his new trellising system ( Lenz Moser Hochkultur ) and paved the way for Austria’s most important wines. Markus, throughout his career has promoted and mastered the Gruener so well, that this resulted in his nomination as – Winemaker of the Year in 2014 by Falstaff Magazine (the most important wine and gourmet magazine in the German-speaking world). Markus and Lenz’s aim is now to create a new Veltliner Gruener that will be taken to the entire wine-loving world (also outside the German-speaking countries). Their clear aim is to help build this grape as a global ambassador for top Austrian white viticulture. Every good wine list in the world should carry the Gruener – every premium wine shop around the world should carry it.
