O Produtor, tasting note published in May 16th 2023

Unmasked, we seek a pure expression of terroir, showcasing minerality, vibrant acidity, and freshness. Our goal is to show that the Douro can also produce great white wines.

Lento

Produced from old vines with an average age of 90 years and situated at an altitude of over 500 metres, carefully harvested by hand, we produce a Douro with precious subtleties. The poor, sandy soils of granite origin contribute to a unique profile and the expression of a high-altitude Douro of unrivalled freshness.

The grapes arrive at the winery in 20 kg crates and are gently pressed. The must is decanted at 8°C for two to three days. Fermentation takes place spontaneously using indigenous yeasts. Wood is not used in Lento, because we want it to be a wine with minerality, acidity and freshness.
A wine where minerality, acidity and freshness are symbols and expressions of the terroir. A pure wine, without make-up. Lento – Slow goes a long way…

Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and controlled temperature.

Aged on lees.
