Onion-peel colour with a discreet aroma of reduced fruit, typical of the Jaen variety. A sensation of freshness in the aroma that accompanies the palate with good acidity, balance and a certain complexity, making this rosé somewhat gastronomic.

The year 2021 saw a very cold winter with snow at mid-altitude and ended with a lot of rain. Bud-break began in April and spring was generally mild, with a few hail-storms in the Dão, without affecting production or quality. Summer was cool, with slow ripening of the grapes and a higher concentration of acidity at harvest time. The harvest was long, with interruptions between grape varieties and marked by some rain. This is a year with higher production than 2020, but with more freshness and natural acidity, giving the wines a generally more elegant profile. The grapes for the Pretexto rosé 2021 were whole for the press, unloaded by hand. Gentle pressing allowed direct fermentation without decanting, in stainless steel vats with ageing on the lees for 7 months.

Textura Wines
Textura Wines is a family project started in 2018 in Dão on the slopes of Serra da Estrela and involving organic viticulture, terroir wine production and wine tourism. In search of existing vineyards in a region of small producers, we have 22 ha of vineyards on 7 different plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and in Penalva do Castelo. With a low-intervention oenology, which reflects the soil and the location of each of our vineyards, the aim is to achieve wines with character, elegant and distinctive. Respect for the place and its biodiversity (soil, flora and fauna, people and community), the preservation of resources (natural and cultural) and local development are the basis of our fundamental principles.
