O Produtor, tasting note published in April 17th 2023

This story presents us with a Carmenère in motion, showing the delicacy it achieves in the particular terroir of Millahue: elegant and dynamic, with round tannins that fill the mid-palate, giving a sensation of volume while highlighting the layers of flavors. The Cabernet Sauvignon is accompanied by a firm structure, like a pentagram full of notes that transport us to an infinite experience at the end. As for the Cabernet Franc, it elegantly brings tension and minerality, lending refined notes of graphite in the mouth. The nose reveals notes of black fruits, such as blackberry and plum, spices with black pepper in the lead, as well as the characteristic undergrowth aroma of Carmenère, which harmonizes with the mineral notes.

Vik Wines

VIK was created in Millahue, in the Cachapoal Valley. This is a vineyard that embodies the perfect fusion of man, experience, land, climate and high technology.

THE PERFECT TERROIR
The VIK vineyard was born at the foot of the Andes Mountains, within the Millahue Valley, called “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean nature where more than 327 hectares of vines have been planted.

VIK’s terroir offers a majestic and natural landscape made up of 12 valleys, each with its own microclimate, distinct exposures, all within a wind tunnel cooled by coastal breezes from the Pacific and winds from high in the Andes that give VIK enormous complexity and exceptional variety.

OENOLOGIST
Head winemaker Cristian Vallejo oversees VIK’s viticulture and winemaking, ensuring that grapes are hand-picked and fermentation occurs naturally, without the addition of yeasts.

The wines are aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
