O Produtor, tasting note published in March 3rd 2023

This story presents us with a Carmenère in motion, showing the delicacy it achieves in the particular terroir of Millahue: elegant and dynamic, with round tannins that fill the mid-palate, giving a sensation of volume, highlighting the layers of flavors. Cabernet Sauvignon is accompanied by a firm structure, like a pentagram full of notes that leads us to an infinite experience at the end. The nose reveals notes of black fruits, such as blackberry and prune, spices with black pepper in the lead, as well as the characteristic forest aroma of Carmenère, which harmonizes with the mineral notes.

La Piu Belle

The story
La Piu Belle is the goddess of nature, love, fertility, beauty and art. She is the goddess of VIK, our golden place in the Millahue Valley. She is the personification of the mystical world of our incredible terroir. She personifies the sun illuminating the fog that covers the Millahue Valley at dawn. It embodies the freshness of the Pacific coast and the breezes of the Andean mountains that cool our grapes during the luminescent summer. She is the gentle rain that brings our vineyards to life, enhancing and releasing the scent of the lush green native flora and fauna that surround our vineyard. It is the complexity of our soils, the roundness of our hillsides and the beauty of our valleys.
The Piu Belle is intensely emotional and very beautiful; the most beautiful. It was entrusted to VIK to offer us our fine wines. She gave birth to our vines and she cries red golden tears of joy for what she has created. These tears of red gold, our wines, are your gifts to the world.
Fresh, elegant, intense, beautiful.

Vik Wines

VIK was created in Millahue, in the Cachapoal Valley. This is a vineyard that embodies the perfect fusion of man, experience, land, climate and high technology.

THE PERFECT TERROIR
The VIK vineyard was born at the foot of the Andes Mountains, within the Millahue Valley, called “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean nature where more than 327 hectares of vines have been planted.

VIK’s terroir offers a majestic and natural landscape made up of 12 valleys, each with its own microclimate, distinct exposures, all within a wind tunnel cooled by coastal breezes from the Pacific and winds from high in the Andes that give VIK enormous complexity and exceptional variety.

OENOLOGIST
Head winemaker Cristian Vallejo oversees VIK’s viticulture and winemaking, ensuring that grapes are hand-picked and fermentation occurs naturally, without the addition of yeasts.

The wines are aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
