Contraste red wine, is a Douro regional wine, full of red fruits, black cherries, tobacco naunces, eucalyptus and graphite. It is a dense and fresh red wine with good roughness and a very long finish.
VINEYARDS
Schist Soils. Made with grapes from 40 year-old vines in Quinta do Cabido and Quinta Chão do Pereiro.
VINIFICATION
Grapes hand picked into small boxes. Destemming followed by crushing and pumping over in stainless steel vats. Fermentation with controlled temperature, gentle pumping over, final maceration of one week. Malo-lactic fermentation in vats.
AGING
18 months in used French oak barrels.
Contains sulphites.
