The world of wine as we know it has always been associated with winemakers and producers and almost never with female winemakers and producers.
History helps to enrich a country, in particular the wine country, and here we have to call the attention of a great lady. Mrs. Antónia Ferreira, better known as “A Ferreirinha”, was responsible for the development of the Douro region, giving a personal stamp and raising the region to one of the most important in the world.
This is why the theme that the “World of Wine” is only male does not correspond to the truth.
Women’s Day, the 8th March, is approaching. For those who don’t know, there are excellent wines made by great Portuguese winemakers, which we all drink but we don’t always know who made them. For this reason, today we are going to let you know, or just remember, who is behind these very special nectars.
Thus, we present here some of the wines that you may appreciate, with a very feminine stamp and understand the extreme importance of Women in the world of wine and vineyards.
To all women, a “Toast!”
