Quinta do Ferro
Quinta do Ferro has been a pioneer since its foundation in 1999, being the first winery in the region to be built and designed from the ground up for sparkling wine production. It remains a benchmark producer of sparkling wine in the Vinho Verde region.
The vineyard is under a special microclimate and on granitic soil with low organic matter content, giving it minerality, salinity, and a vegetal touch. Located at an altitude of over 600 meters and dubbed the “mountain vineyard,” it is from here that the grapes are harvested for Dom Ferro Reserva Bruto, as they naturally possess the perfect alcohol and acidity for being a good base for sparkling wine.
Vinification: Grapes are selected and hand-harvested into small crates, gently pressed in a short period of time, and the free-run juice is collected and decanted for 4 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place for approximately 1 month at 12°C in small stainless steel tanks. Natural stabilization with a minimum of 12 months on fine lees. Second fermentation in the bottle according to the Classic Method. Aging and maturation in the cellar for over 36 months.
Gastronomy: Served between 8/10°C with all types of meats, fish, and seafood. Suitable for desserts or served as an aperitif.
