O Produtor, tasting note published in November 29th 2019

It is a frank and honest wine which elegantly reflects its terroir in a pure way. Cabernet Sauvignon seduces with its firm yet patient structure and linear delivery of young red fruit with bright, vibrant, velvety and slightly taut tannins that dance on the palate. Meanwhile, in another chapter, we learn of a precise and enigmatic Cabernet Franc, which brings minerality and elegance, as well as a delicious juiciness, inviting us to enjoy a pleasant and endless aftertaste, which is complete in its dimensions. It also provides us with spices that fill us with an inspiring and illuminating freshness and combine with a perfect and balanced acidity to create a nervous but relaxed and confident wine that ends in a long, pleasant and unforgettable finish.

Vik Wines

VIK was created in Millahue, in the Cachapoal Valley. This is a vineyard that embodies the perfect fusion of man, experience, land, climate and high technology.

THE PERFECT TERROIR
The VIK vineyard was born at the foot of the Andes Mountains, within the Millahue Valley, called “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean nature where more than 327 hectares of vines have been planted.

VIK’s terroir offers a majestic and natural landscape made up of 12 valleys, each with its own microclimate, distinct exposures, all within a wind tunnel cooled by coastal breezes from the Pacific and winds from high in the Andes that give VIK enormous complexity and exceptional variety.

OENOLOGIST
Head winemaker Cristian Vallejo oversees VIK’s viticulture and winemaking, ensuring that grapes are hand-picked and fermentation occurs naturally, without the addition of yeasts.

The wines are aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
