Cabrita wines were born in the picturesque Quinta da Vinha, in the Algarve, dating back to the 1970s when fruit merchant José André acquired the estate with 6 hectares and produced homemade wine for family and friends with traditional Algarve grape varieties. Today, it is a renowned producer, known for the quality and uniqueness of its wines.

Under the direction of his son, José Manuel Cabrita, the production area has expanded to 16 hectares. The vineyards are closely monitored and tended to by the owner, with all the care and dedication his father taught him, enabling Cabrita Wines to produce wines from excellent quality grapes. Sheltered by the Serra de Monchique, the vineyards receive only refreshing breezes from the Atlantic, in a unique terroir combination that gives Cabrita wines a truly exceptional touch of seaside freshness.

Tasting Note: Very concentrated black cherry color. Intense nose with cherry notes and floral notes, perfectly matched with the aromas of French oak barrel toast. Voluminous attack on the palate, tannins building up throughout the tasting. Very rich aroma and very persistent finish.

Tasting Note: A disconcerting wine, pale yellow in color. Tension of the grape variety and its minerality on the nose. On the palate, it’s an explosion of freshness and fruit, well softened by the creaminess that aging on lees provides.
