Tordo
The grapes for this wine are selected from the oldest Alvarinho vines. Weekly bâtonnage was carried out for four months to achieve the wine’s ideal structure.
Viticulture:
The Basto sub-region is the most inland area of the Vinho Verde region, with Mondim de Basto being the only municipality in Trás-os-Montes under this designation. Located at a medium-high altitude, it is naturally sheltered from maritime winds. The soils are predominantly granitic — the ideal terroir for producing mineral-style wines. The climate is more severe, with cold, rainy winters and hot, dry summers, favoring most white grape varieties, especially Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto, and Azal. The beauty of this rural region is only rivaled by the stunning Tâmega River, which surrounds all our vineyards.
Vinification:
Harvesting is done manually, using only grapes from our own vineyards, transported in 25 kg boxes. This is followed by total destemming, gentle pressing, and decantation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature control. No malolactic fermentation or wood aging is used. The wine undergoes clarification and microfiltration immediately before bottling to ensure microbiological stability.
All our wines are 100% Vegan Friendly.
