Niepoort
The grapes for Redoma Branco come from old vineyards on the right bank of the Douro River, at altitudes ranging between 400 and 600 metres. These vineyards are predominantly planted with traditional grape varieties such as Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Viosinho, Donzelinho, and Gouveio. The mica-schist soils give rise to wines with great minerality, delicacy, and freshness.
Vinification
Harvesting at Quinta de Nápoles began on August 2nd with short-cycle varieties, and the white grapes were picked from August 17th onward. After careful sorting on a selection table, a gentle pressing was carried out, followed by cold settling for 24 hours. Fermentation took place spontaneously in French oak barrels of 228 and 500 litres, where the wine aged for around 8 months. The combination of mica-schist soils and the complexity of Douro grape varieties results in wines that are fresh, mineral, and elegant.
