O Produtor, tasting note published in February 14th 2020
Toasted yellow colour. Notes of wax, dry straw, fruitiness reminiscent of persimmon. In the mouth it has an astonishing texture, it is long and rich, firm acidity and some salinity.
With a deep commitment to upsetting the status quo and bringing viticulture back to its forgotten roots in our region, the current generation at Morgado do Quintão is trying to shape a new perspective on Algarve wine, seizing an opportunity to nurture the land where the vine first came to the Iberian Peninsula. Manual harvest, destemmed grapes, skin maceration for 45 days with manual treading. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature for 25 days.
