Herdade do Esporão
The first vintage of Monte Velho dates back to 1991 and it was first released on the market in 1992, with a shelf price of 200 escudos. Inspired by its predecessor Esporão Reserva, Monte Velho revolutionized everyday wine consumption by bringing a quality wine to the table at an affordable price. After 30 years, the journey of this brand is marked by significant evolution. In 2020, 7.4 million bottles of Monte Velho were sold in over 50 countries, and since 2013, this Alentejo regional wine has been produced entirely under integrated production.
The story of Monte Velho is closely linked to the territory it originates from, making it a distinctly Alentejo wine due to its diversity of grape varieties and profile. The wines result from the combination of nature and winemaking tradition, allied with the experience and innovation that characterize Esporão.
