Maçanita
Arinto is a symbol of freshness and verticality. It is believed to have originated further south, in the region where Wellington faced Napoleon and, at the same time, made wines from this grape famous in the Kingdom of England. Today, it is one of the most widely planted white grape varieties in Portugal, playing a key role in the profile of many Portuguese white wines.
This is a Douro Arinto, sourced from vineyards located at 550 metres of altitude, in its single-varietal version. It was born with the irreverence and character of the mountains — and was given time to evolve. Harvested by hand into 18 kg boxes, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed, cold settled, and fermented in new barrels with bâtonnage. The wine was aged for 18 months on fine lees, followed by 7 months in bottle before release.
