Nuno Cancela de Abreu, tasting note published in March 13th 2024
Bright citrus yellow. With aromas of white fruit (pear), citrus, and mineral notes, this is a fresh and balanced wine, with mouthfeel volume and a pleasant sensation of freshness on the finish. Fresh, mineral, fruity wine, good balance, and mouthfeel volume.
Nuno Cancela de Abreu is the owner and winemaker who oversees this small family enclave in the Dão. Quietly, he has been steadily consolidating a heritage of flavor and authenticity that distinguishes him from others. From the beloved grape varieties Arinto, Encruzado, and Malvasia Fina, he has produced this unique white wine capable of many challenges, and which also proves flexible in food pairings. He particularly enjoys oriental and spicy cuisines and relishes facing off against a baked sole with capers. Purchase a case of 6 bottles and open one each year, repeating the dish to see how this nectar truly evolves over time. It’s a great wine.” – Evasões Magazine, April 12, 2024.

Boas Quintas
Quinta da Giesta and Fonte do Ouro are both highly representative of the traditional Portuguese landscape, characterised by small fragmented properties, but with a highly diversified land use – agriculture and forestry, low urbanisation and natural and semi-natural patches. Mostly composed by vineyards and pine forests, as well as, some small natural and semi-natural areas, this landscape is highly beneficial for the conservation of the Mediterranean biodiversity, since it promotes a moderate human pressure allowing the coexistence of humans, animals and the preservation of common rural habitats.
