Palhete do Tareco

Talha Rosé Wine – New Generation
This range represents the new style of talha wines, just like those still enjoyed in Alentejo wine cellars. Light, fresh and straightforward, they are bottled shortly after St. Martin’s Day (11 November), following approximately 2.5 months of skin contact — all while preserving the true character of traditional talha wine.

Vinification & Ageing
Manual harvest with partial destemming. The must is placed in tarecos (small amphorae) along with the skins of white and red grapes, resulting in a vibrant and intense rosé hue. Alcoholic fermentation takes place between 16ºC and 19ºC, combining tradition with modern control to maintain freshness and aromatic expression.

Profile
A light, fresh and food-friendly rosé with a smooth structure and balanced acidity. A contemporary take on an age-old Alentejo tradition.

Food Pairing
Great with oriental-spiced dishes, seafood, cold starters and Italian pasta.

Allergens information

Contains sulphites.

XXVI Talhas

We are a group of friends, native of Vila Alva, who joined to create the XXVI Talhas. We grew up watching our relatives producing wine from carvings and so we have a great passion for this tradition. This project, an old dream, is now born with the aim of dignifying and promoting the wine of carving produced in Vila Alva. Being our village one of the places in the Alentejo where the tradition of carving wine, introduced by the Romans, has been maintained until today, we feel the responsibility to continue it. Unfortunately, in recent years, this practice has been drastically reduced and it is this trend that we intend to help reverse. It is with this aim that we have reactivated Mestre Daniel’s old winery, with 26 carvings, where we produce wine using traditional methods. It was the combination of the number of carvings in our winery (26) with the Roman origin of this type of winemaking that led us to name our project XXVI Talhas”.
