Olho de Mocho
Originating from a region with a typically Mediterranean climate, in the wine sub-region of Vidigueira, where the climatic conditions are the most temperate in the Alentejo, offering an optimal microclimate for the production of high quality wines.
The soils are not very productive, sandy and of granite origin. A great pedological potential for the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent wines.
The Trincadeira variety is grown on a plot with a slight western exposure and east-west rows.
Hand-picked in 12 kg boxes in the early morning of 23 August
of 2020. Careful selection on a vibrating belt, with light crushing of the grapes during destemming. Vinification in open skins after static cold clarification. Fermented in 500 litre French oak barrels for 23 days at a controlled temperature of 16ºC.
The wine was aged for six months in 500 litre French oak barrels.
