Quinta de Lemos
Tinta Roriz occupies 20% of Quinta de Lemos vineyard, a variety that gives the wines a high potential for ageing. The vineyards are located between 350 and 400 metres above sea level. The vineyard is managed within an integrated protection programme and the application of herbicides is forbidden. Harvesting is manual, when the vines reach their optimum point of maturation, between the second fortnight in September and the first fortnight in October. The harvest is done in small 10 kgs boxes. These wines are obtained after fermentation at a controlled temperature so as to preserve all the aromatic elegance, in
wooden vats and stainless steel vats for 20 days.
The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and consequent maturation for 18 months in order to enhance its structure and complexity.
