Quinta D’Azinheira
Region: Portugal, Douro – Baixo Corgo sub-region.
Production site: Azinheira village, Santa Marta de Penaguião, left bank of the Corgo River.
Altitude: Between 300 and 400 metres.
Vineyard: Schist soils with high stoniness | Vines aged between 5 and 25 years.
Vinification: Grapes were hand-picked at optimal ripeness and transported in 20 kg boxes, carefully selected, destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation took place in stone lagares with mechanical foot treading and pump-overs, under temperature control. The wine aged for 18 months in second and third-use French oak barrels. Bottled in August 2024.

Food pairing: Ideal with flavourful dishes from traditional Portuguese cuisine such as roasts, grilled meats, cured sausages and medium to long-aged cheeses.
