O Produtor, tasting note published in April 10th 2019

Despite the impression of a certain 'sweetness' on the palate, the wine is very dry.
- The small Ningxia berries give a lot of extraction (about 25% more than in European Cabernet Sauvignon grapes); due to the extremely dry climate, the skin-to-juice ratio produces more solids in the wine - hence also a unique concentration of fruit flavours.
- Aroma: Grapefruit peel, citrus combined with exotic fruit aromas.
- Palate: A range of new flavours, echoing the aromatic experience in the nose. Luxurious, generous, yet elegant and with freshness on the palate.
- The profile of this unique wine lies between a typical, unoaked Chardonnay and an Old World Sauvignon Blanc - introducing a completely new flavour profile. The wine will age for a long period of time.

Chateau Changyu Moser XV

This Blanc de Noir is definitely China’s first ever white Cabernet Sauvignon. Its colour, texture and taste profile is completely new to the wine world.

2018 was a great year in Ningxia – especially for a white Cabernet-type wine
– The vines are about 15 years old – 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes
– Early and later harvest of healthy berries with 22 -13 brix – for blending options
– Immediate bleeding of the destemmed grapes into the Cabernet Sauvignon white – we have 10 minutes to make this wine without any wood treatment
– Cultivation, fermentation and blending under the supervision of Lenz M. Moser (Chief Winemaker Chateau Changyu Moser XV) who spends the entire harvest period in Ningxia – and a total of five times at the Chateau – about three months in total per year.

Chateau Changyu Moser XV

The principle idea of this château is the cooperation between CHANGYU as the pioneering premiere Chinese winery and the European/Austrian Moser Family: a challenging and exciting combination of Chinese emergence to the global wine world, aspiring to belong in the company of the world’s finest and of the European spirit for excellence of 15 generations in wine. Despite of all the difference in culture from two worlds, CHANGYU and Lenz M. Moser became partners 12 years ago and still share the same vision: being the first from China in going global and establish CHATEAU CHANGYU MOSER XV as the leading château from China.
