Each Underdog is unique and unrepeatable. Not only because of the wine itself but also due to the label art created by invited artists, exclusively for each specific wine.
Vinification: The ancient tradition of talha wines remains alive in Vila Alva, near Vidigueira. The grapes were handpicked and destemmed before entering the talha (clay amphora). Spontaneous fermentation occurred without temperature control, and the wine stayed in contact with the solids until the end of February. It was bottled without stabilization or filtration to maintain and showcase its rustic and traditional character.

Hugo Mendes
Born and raised in Ribeira de Santarém, Hugo Mendes studied Biotechnological Engineering but his passion for wines spoke louder and since the 2006 vintage he has been fully dedicated to oenology. A lover of communicating art to consumers, he is a regular presence on social networks. Since 2008 he feeds a blog dedicated to uncomplicate oenology for oenophiles. He became a producer in his own name at the 2016 harvest, and for that he carried out the first crowdfunding, in Portugal, to finance a wine.
