James Suckling, tasting note published in July 22nd 2011

Dried flowers with lots of roses and spices with dark fruits too. Full body, with soft and round tannins. Lots of cocoa and fruit. Long finish. Hard not to drink now! Voluptuous.

Gianni Gagliardo

Barolo Gianni Gagliardo is the result of a blend of eight parcels located in five municipalities. In principle, each vineyard is vinified separately and then blended with the others at the end of vinification. Only occasionally, when the perfect maturation of several parcels occurs simultaneously, can a grape assembly be chosen. It is therefore a traditional approach. An orchestra where each vineyard expresses part of its character to create an elegant and complex work, but in this case, of particular accessibility.

Historically, La Morra grapes have always been predominant in this blend, but never alone. The various municipalities complement each other, revealing the specific identities of this Great Territory.

The Barolo Gianni Gagliardo aged in oak barrels and in bottle, contributing to its excellent aging potential and complexity.

With part of the grapes coming from our vineyards in La Morra, and also from Monforte d’Alba, Barolo, and Serralunga, this wine has a particularly expressive and sophisticated character from a young age, with great aging potential.

Gianni Gagliardo

We take care of our vines one by one, because each one is different from the others. We make mass selections from the oldest and most interesting plants in order to preserve the original genetic imprints. We seek balance in the individual plant, which then becomes the balance of the entire vineyard, and then of the wine we produce.
