This project was born from the will of three oenologists, Jorge Moreira, Francisco Olazabal and Jorge Serôdio Borges, to make a wine together. The region chosen was Dão, a region for which there is a common admiration that was born in the tasting of older wines from the 60’s and 70’s that surprise for their elegance and freshness. The identity and complexity of these wines is indeed remarkable and serves as an inspiration for our MOB wines.
The vineyards, totalling fifteen hectares, ten located in Seia and five in Gouveia composed of old vines, are located in one of the coldest places in the region, at the foot of Serra da Estrela. The junction of altitude, soils and grape varieties present in the property convinced us that it would be the right place to move forward. It comes from the vineyards of Gouveia, vinified in mills and stainless steel vats with little extraction and at low temperatures. It aged for 24 months in used French oak barrels.

This project – M.O.B. (Moreira, Olazabal e Borges) – was born from the will of three winemakers, Jorge Moreira, Francisco Olazabal and Jorge Serôdio Borges who wanted to make a wine together. The Dão wine region was chosen due to our common admiration for old wines and was born during a tasting of wines from the ’60s and 70’s decade, which surprised us with their elegance and freshness. The Identity and complexity of these wines are, in fact, remarkable and served as an element of inspiration to create our MOB wines, whether white or red.
