O Produtor, tasting note published in July 15th 2020

Still young and austere. The aromatics display wonderful crisp, pure red cherry delineation and a top note of blue fruit aroma with plenty of granite minerality and graphite in support. The nose is floral, elegant, perhaps more subtle than 2016, becoming deeper and more nuanced with time in the glass. The palate shows great freshness with a thread of fine acidity running through its backbone. Red and blue fruit spice and mineral aromas joined by violet and slowly emerging murtilla notes. Honeyed and concentrated but still clear and sultry, with energetic aromas of black raspberry and floral pastille in the mid-palette and a hint of blood orange that adds bite to the back half. Long, long life ahead.

Garage Wine Co.

It was produced in a very simple and slow way, fermenting in open-top lagars with some full clusters and adding lignified stems to avoid carbonic maceration, with indigenous yeasts; malolactic took 11 months (!), and the aging in used and neutral barrel was extended over two winters. Drink now-2035.
