O Produtor, tasting note published in February 10th 2022

Wine of intense ruby color. It stands out for the elegance of its aroma, with notes of red fruits well integrated with the aromas of the wood where it aged. On the palate, it presents soft tannins, good structure, elegance, and a very long and persistent finish.

Dourocaves

Description: Originating from selected parcels in the Upper and Lower Corgo sub-regions, with different types of soils, altitudes, and exposures, it is a wine produced from the traditional Douro grape varieties.

Vinification: The maturation phase proceeded regularly, allowing a harvest at the end of August. The grapes were harvested after a rigorous selection in the vineyard, followed by manual sorting on a selection table. The alcoholic fermentation took place entirely in stainless steel tanks, where it was carried out under strict temperature control with prolonged maceration, allowing a gentler extraction of color and aroma compounds, resulting in a fruity, full-bodied, and very intense wine. Finally, it aged for about 6 months in new French and American oak barrels.
