Casa de Saima
Casa de Saima Pinot Noir is the unlikely — and fortunate — result of a grape variety traditionally associated with sparkling wines revealing itself, in Bairrada, as an elegant red full of character.
The first edition, launched in 2017 as a limited experiment, quickly won over wine lovers and now features — in small quantities — in Casa de Saima’s portfolio.
Here, Pinot takes on a new expression: the ripe red fruit and delicate perfume typical of the variety gain depth thanks to the lively acidity and subtle minerality imparted by the region’s clay-limestone soils and Atlantic climate. With controlled fermentation and ageing in stainless steel, this wine highlights fruit purity and structural finesse.
The result is a subtle, expressive and captivating red — produced on a small scale, as it began, for those who appreciate Bairrada’s more delicate side.
