O Produtor, tasting note published in May 23rd 2019

Nine years of waiting have given rise to an intense ruby red wine of great aromatic complexity, where red fruit with spices and a balsamic touch predominate.

Casa da Passarella

The traditional vinification was done in a granite lagar, following centuries-old techniques very common in the region, and two years later, in the spring of 2011, it began a long process of maturation in bottle.
From the vineyard to the wine, this Vindima 2011 is the heir to fascinating stories – to traditions that have been shared, from parents to children, both by the great names of Portuguese oenology of the past and by humble and wise people for whom these lands have no secrets.

Casa da Passarella

Located in Lagarinhos, in the sub-region of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 600 to 800m the Casa da Passarella was founded in 1892, even before the demarcation of the Dão region (1908). With its name back in the mouths of the world, it will never be known if it was the climate, if it was the land. If it was the talent of the people who passed through here and their passionate stories and personalities. Or if it was simply luck.
One thing is certain: silent and imposing, the old mountain has seen from above the birth of great wines in this piece of land of the Dão. Great wines were born from this house and these vineyards, before they were abandoned and later valued by the current owner, Ricardo Cabral. The renovated Casa da Passarella , presents wines with rigor and with, not less delicious, labels.
