O Produtor, tasting note published in November 28th 2018
Dark ruby color. Notes of black fruit, red fruit, raspberry, wood, spices, toasted. On the palate, it is fresh, smooth, balanced, with good concentration and notes of blackberries.
After a careful selection, the grapes are vinified in granite lagares, with foot treading. Once fermentation starts, an intense maceration process begins to extract the maximum from the grape skins during the fermentation period. The lagares are equipped with a cooling system to ensure fermentation takes place with temperature control.
Winemaking: Total de-stemming, followed by foot treading. Alcoholic fermentation for 6 days with temperature control. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank. The final blend, 100%, is aged in new and used French oak barrels for 12 months.

Quinta Casa Amarela
Quinta da Casa Amarela is located on the left bank of the Douro River, in an area classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, halfway between the towns of Régua and Lamego, in the heart of the world’s oldest demarcated wine region – the Douro.
It has been owned by the same family since 1885. The estate house, rebuilt and expanded in the first quarter of the last century, gives the property its name due to its distinctive yellow colour.
A true family-run estate, it carries on the centuries-old traditions of the region in the art of producing Port wine and Douro DOC wines.
