O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2022
Aroma with notes of black fruit, some floral hints, spices, light vanilla, and toasty notes. On the palate, it is smooth, with good concentration, blackberries, licorice, fine acidity, balanced, and mature.
The production of wines at Quinta da Casa Amarela follows a meticulous production system where qualitative concerns prevail. The grapes, after careful selection, are vinified in granite lagares with foot treading. When fermentation begins, an intense maceration process also starts to extract the maximum from the grape skins. The lagares are equipped with a cooling system to ensure fermentation occurs with temperature control.
Vinification: Total destemming followed by foot treading in granite lagar. Alcoholic fermentation for 6 days with temperature control. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank. From the final blend, 20% undergoes aging in used French oak barrels for 6 months.

Quinta Casa Amarela
Quinta da Casa Amarela is located on the left bank of the Douro River, in an area classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, halfway between the towns of Régua and Lamego, in the heart of the world’s oldest demarcated wine region – the Douro.
It has been owned by the same family since 1885. The estate house, rebuilt and expanded in the first quarter of the last century, gives the property its name due to its distinctive yellow colour.
A true family-run estate, it carries on the centuries-old traditions of the region in the art of producing Port wine and Douro DOC wines.
