Ruby red colour. The nose is varietal, showing fruity notes of cherry and small red berries. On the palate, it offers good varietal expression with overall good balance.

Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa

Founded on tradition and driven by excellence, Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa is one of the great names in Italian winemaking and an essential reference in Piedmont. Located in Neive, in the heart of the Langhe, this historic estate is dedicated to producing wines of unparalleled character and elegance — with a special focus on the great Barolo and Barbaresco, as well as iconic varieties such as Barbera and Dolcetto.

The story of Bruno Giacosa is that of a life entirely devoted to wine. Born in 1929, he began working in the family cellar at the age of just 13 alongside his father and grandfather, learning the secrets of the vineyard and the winery not in an oenology school, but through hands-on experience, observation, and discipline. He quickly stood out for his exceptional talent in selecting the finest grapes — a skill that would define his entire career.

For decades, Giacosa crafted extraordinary wines from grapes sourced from renowned vineyards, such as the legendary Barbaresco Santo Stefano di Neive, from 1964 to 2011. Later, in response to changes in the industry and the rise of estate bottling, he acquired his own vineyards in the most prestigious areas of Barbaresco — Asili and Rabajà — where he began producing wines of pure terroir and authentic expression.

In Barolo, the turning point came with the acquisition of the majestic Falletto di Serralunga d’Alba vineyard in 1982. From this terroir come some of the region’s most celebrated Barolos, distinguished between the “Falletto” bottlings (white label) and “Rocche del Falletto” (white or red label), the latter sourced from the noblest plots on the southern slope.

After Bruno Giacosa passed away in 2018, the estate’s legacy was entrusted to his daughter, Bruna Giacosa, who, together with long-time winemaker and protégé Dante Scaglione, has continued her father’s important work. Her commitment ensures that the Giacosa name, on a Barolo or Barbaresco label, remains a symbol of the highest quality and the purest vineyard expression.

Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa represents the noblest that Piedmont has to offer: profound, precise wines with remarkable longevity and timeless elegance.
