James Suckling, tasting note published in October 25th 2023
The subtlety and fragrance of this wine are enchanting, with notes of flowers, orange peel and cherries. Also, some wonderful ripe strawberries. Full-bodied but never excessive, with polished tannins running throughout. It is dense, yet shows all the hallmarks of a great wine. You’ll want to drink it now – and perhaps you should, because it’s irresistible. But it will age beautifully.
The 2020 Colore is a pure expression of Sangiovese from old vines carefully selected across different areas of Tuscany. Most of the grapes come from Lamole, where the high altitude and cool climate provide remarkable freshness. 70-year-old vines in Bagno a Ripoli and Vincigliata also contribute, as does a small portion from Olmo. Depth, complexity and elegance define this wine, with dark fruit, wild berries, liquorice and mint. Mineral notes and vibrant acidity shape the distinctive profile of Colore.” – Wine Advocate

Bibi Graetz Winery was founded in 2000 on the hills of Fiesole, overlooking Florence, where Bibi, raised in a family of artists, fell deeply in love with wine and made it his life. Fascinated by old vines — for their finesse, elegance, and the purity of the fruit they produce — Bibi Graetz now holds one of the largest collections of old vineyards in Tuscany.
