O Produtor, tasting note published in October 27th 2024
Shows a beautiful slightly violet red color. Intense aromas dominated by red fruits, floral notes of violet, and spices. Intense with a well-defined profile, it is a persistent wine with a fresh and long finish.
Winemaking
The harvest took place in September. After careful vineyard selection, the grapes were fully destemmed and crushed. A cold pre-fermentative skin contact was maintained for 48 hours. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with a total maceration of over 40 days but without heavy extraction. Then the wine moved to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. It aged for 10 months in 500-liter French oak barrels of first, second, and third use.
Food Pairing and Serving Suggestions
Bafarela Reserva is a surprising wine that pairs very well with traditional Portuguese dishes, various meats, cheeses, and flavorful pasta. Also try it as an aperitif with aged and spicy cheeses. It should be opened a little before consumption to breathe and develop its best qualities. Over time, it may produce sediment and decanting is recommended.
Allergens information
Contains sulphites.
