O Produtor, tasting note published in June 12th 2020

Beautiful floral aromas on the nose, leading to more complex notes of red fruits and dark berries, with savoury notes of cedar, tobacco and a warm touch of vanilla from subtle wood treatment - all in perfect harmony, with a built-in feel good factor.
- On the palate, luscious, generous and fresher, with a delicious freshness. A top wine from Ningxia, yet we focused on elegance and finesse, the wine has intensity and complexity without being overbearing or overpowering.
- Lenz M. Moser: 'We believe this wine will pave the way for a new breed of Ningxia wines, where the focus is on pure drinking pleasure.
- As this is my second vintage, it is difficult to say when peak consumption will be reached, however, judging by the quality of the grapes at harvest, this wine will drink well for a minimum of 15 years.
- It is certainly the best red I have ever been involved in making this new style of wine. And I will dedicate this very special creation to the leaders of Changyu and all those involved in making this wine. It takes a great team to make it, now the final jury is out with the opinion makers and our customers to give the final verdict.

Chateau Changyu Moser XV

2016 was a truly great year at Ningxia – 2016 is richer, more flavour and tannins than the other great year, vines between 12 – 18 years old
– For this truly special and ultra-rare wine – only 6,300 bottles made – we chose the blend components barrel by barrel, selecting only grapes from the best plots from our estate vineyards
– 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (small, healthy berries with brown seeds and 24 -25 brix)
– Barrel aged (5 different French barrels, medium toast, 100% first use) in the barrel cellar at the Chateau for 24 months
– Cultivation, fermentation and blending under the supervision of Lenz M. Moser (Chief Winemaker Chateau Changyu Moser XV) who spends the entire harvest period in Ningxia – and a total of five times at the Chateau – ca. three months in total per year.

Chateau Changyu Moser XV

The principle idea of this château is the cooperation between CHANGYU as the pioneering premiere Chinese winery and the European/Austrian Moser Family: a challenging and exciting combination of Chinese emergence to the global wine world, aspiring to belong in the company of the world’s finest and of the European spirit for excellence of 15 generations in wine. Despite of all the difference in culture from two worlds, CHANGYU and Lenz M. Moser became partners 12 years ago and still share the same vision: being the first from China in going global and establish CHATEAU CHANGYU MOSER XV as the leading château from China.
