What are Vinho Verde (Green Wine)?
Despite the name, Vinhos Verdes are not unripe wines nor green in colour. They are wines produced in the Vinho Verde Demarcated Region, in northwest Portugal, between the Minho and Douro rivers — one of the country’s oldest and most emblematic wine regions.
This style includes white, red, rosé, and sparkling wines, generally with light, fresh profiles and vibrant acidity. They are perfect for warm days, relaxed meals, or to pair with more delicate dishes.
