Super Grapes is delighted to announce the distribution of two new producers that reflect the true essence of the Douro: Quinta do Cerro da Nora and Quinta D’Azinheira. Two projects that combine history, terroir, and passion, resulting in wines with remarkable identity and great elegance.
Quinta do Cerro da Nora
Quinta do Cerro da Nora is a reference in the Douro wine region, combining family tradition with exceptional terroir. With 12 hectares of vineyards on schist soils and with prime sun exposure, it cultivates noble grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and Sousão, producing wines of personality, structure, and finesse. Since its first Grande Reserva in 2011, the estate has gained international recognition, winning medals in competitions and receiving scores above 90 points from leading critics. The winery, equipped with stainless steel lagares, barrels, balseiros, and French oak, allows for wines with expressive color, aroma, and body, reflecting the true essence of DOC Douro.
Quinta D’Azinheira
Quinta D’Azinheira, with roots linked to the Real Companhia Velha and acquired by the Mesquita family in 1977, remains faithful to a philosophy of family proximity and authenticity in wine. With 14 hectares of vineyards between 300 and 400 meters in altitude, on stony schist soils, the estate produces wines with defined identity, natural balance, and classic elegance. The first wine was produced in 1990, and since then, quality and consistency have earned growing recognition. The project currently benefits from the expertise of winemaker Luís Leocádio, recognized by Revista de Vinhos / Essência do Vinho — one of Portugal’s most prestigious wine publications — as the author of some of the “Best Wines of the Year 2022.”
With these two estates, Super Grapes reinforces its mission to give a voice to the best national producers, bringing to the market wines that carry stories of dedication, unique terroirs, and the soul of the Douro.
