Delicate aromas with a fruity character and some balsamic and spicy notes. Firm but textured tannins, great freshness and complexity. It has enormous potential for bottle ageing.
D. Áurea is a tribute to Grandmother Áurea, the family connection with Portuguese roots. 100% Bastardo from the sub-region of Dão – Serra da Estrela – at an altitude of 600 metres and on granite soils. The Bastardo grapes ferment in a lagar with 30% whole bunch and macerate for 15 days. They are then aged for one year in old barrels.

Textura Wines is a family project started in 2018 in Dão on the slopes of Serra da Estrela and involving organic viticulture, terroir wine production and wine tourism. In search of existing vineyards in a region of small producers, we have 22 ha of vineyards on 7 different plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and in Penalva do Castelo. With a low-intervention oenology, which reflects the soil and the location of each of our vineyards, the aim is to achieve wines with character, elegant and distinctive. Respect for the place and its biodiversity (soil, flora and fauna, people and community), the preservation of resources (natural and cultural) and local development are the basis of our fundamental principles.
