Quinta de Arcossó
The red wine Quinta de Arcossó Bastardo is born in Arcossó – Vidago – Sub-region of Ribeira de Oura, on a 10.5-hectare plot integrated into a 12-hectare vineyard planted in 2003, located on a broad hillside at a medium altitude (375 meters), facing south, with about 20% slope. Soil of granitic origin.
Grapes were harvested on September 1st. Foot treading of the grapes was carried out in 1000-liter vats, and later placed in old chestnut wood barrels, with about 30% of stems, where alcoholic fermentation took place for 12 days. Two completely manual daily punch-downs were performed, and the wine was extracted by gravity. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging in used French oak barrels. This is a wine for which no mechanical processes were used throughout its winemaking and aging. Bottled in June 2022, followed by 6 months of cellar aging.
