Vineyard
Encoberta is the name of a small village in Penalva do Castelo (Castendo sub-region), where in 2018 we made this wine from our own grapes, Jaen (50%), Alfrocheiro (25%), Tinta Roriz (15%) and Touriga Nacional(10% ). The 28-year-old vineyards at 460 m altitude with granite and clay soils have been in conversion to organic certification since 2020.

Vinification
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in French oak vats with 35% whole bunches, followed by 30 days in vats. Aged for 15 months in used French oak vats and oak barrels. Natural stabilisation.

Textura Wines

Textura Wines is a family project started in 2018 in Dão on the slopes of Serra da Estrela and involving organic viticulture, terroir wine production and wine tourism. In search of existing vineyards in a region of small producers, we have 22 ha of vineyards on 7 different plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and in Penalva do Castelo. With a low-intervention oenology, which reflects the soil and the location of each of our vineyards, the aim is to achieve wines with character, elegant and distinctive. Respect for the place and its biodiversity (soil, flora and fauna, people and community), the preservation of resources (natural and cultural) and local development are the basis of our fundamental principles.
