O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2015

Gold color. Intense aromas of very ripe tropical fruits, such as mango, banana or melon. A harmonious structure in the mouth, we can perceive freshness and a good balance between sweetness and acidity.

The grapes are harvested at the end of September and taken to “Lagar”, where they are trodden by the traditional method. Fermentation is interrupted by the addition of wine spirit, so that the final product can maintain part of its natural sugar.

Quinta Casa Amarela

Quinta da Casa Amarela is located on the left bank of the Douro River, in an area classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, halfway between the towns of Régua and Lamego, in the heart of the world’s oldest demarcated wine region – the Douro.

It has been owned by the same family since 1885. The estate house, rebuilt and expanded in the first quarter of the last century, gives the property its name due to its distinctive yellow colour.

A true family-run estate, it carries on the centuries-old traditions of the region in the art of producing Port wine and Douro DOC wines.
