A Vinha, tasting note published in July 19th 2021

Arinto is a very versatile grape variety, which is why it is grown in almost all wine regions. In the Vinhos Verdes region it is known as Pedernã, but it is in the Bucelas region that this caste is gaining notoriety, being considered the "queen" caste of the region.
Arinto grapes are large, compact and composed of small to medium-sized yellowish berries. This caste is frequently used in the production of blended wines (more than one caste) and also sparkling wines. In the Bucelas region, it produces single-variety wines (one variety only) with high acidity, citrus colour and a marked floral and fruity character (when young). The Arinto variety produces vibrant wines with high acidity, a strong mineral profile, enormous freshness and good ageing potential. Firm acidity is Arinto's main calling card, making it an improvement in many Portuguese regions.
