Paço de Teixeiró
Located in the Demarcated Region of Vinho Verde, on the foothills south of the Serra do Marão and facing the Douro River Valley, it has a characteristic house from the XIV / XV centuries that maintains, however, much older traits. After the destruction caused by phylloxera, the vineyards were replanted – from 1978 – with the best and most traditional varieties, predominantly Avesso, with Paço de Teixeiró 1985 being the first wine launched on the market. Contrary to most of the region’s wines, the vineyards of this Quinta are based on shaley soils, which, combined with the moderate and fresh climate of the Serra do Marão, give it unique characteristics for the production of white wines that give it fame.
