O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2017

A very complex, mineral-balanced aroma with discreet notes of exotic fruits, citrus fruits and orange peel. In the mouth it shows a lot of volume and freshness, being very long and with a natural live acidity.

Castello D’Alba

9 months in French oak barrels, fermented and aged with fine lees stirred batonnage / Grapes from old vines in field blended vineyards, of native varieties, such as: Códega do Larinho, Rabigato, Viosinho, Verdelho, Malvasia Fina,… / Schist soils in the Upper Douro at an average altitude of 500 metres above the sea level.

Winemaker’s Notes: Very complex aroma, a mineral character balanced with discreet hints of tropical and citrus fruits and orange peel. Perfectly balanced, evoking toasty notes of French oak, giving it great aromatic complexity. Long on the palate, with volume, full body and a very fresh final acidity.

A perfect wine to enjoy with food, try it with baked fish, soft goat cheeses, white meat and cod dishes.

Rui Roboredo Madeira Vinhos

In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, on the border between the Douro Superior and Beira Alta regions, it was among family that its passion grew for the aromas and smells of this land that shapes our character.
After coming into contact with many cultures of living and making wine, in various parts of the globe, Rui Madeira returned to the great Douro valley convinced that they have the potential to make the best wines in the world.
Out of respect for nature, due to the way we cultivate their vineyards and wines reflect his experiences, which smell and taste of land, of schist, damp granite, rock rose, wild flowers and fruit.
It is in the winery that he makes wines with the character of our ‘terroir’, expressed through native grape varieties, which instil with a style of their own and an international profile.
