O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2016

This wine is still young and features a bright ruby color, and has a youthful, subtle and elegant nose. The quality shows the unbelievable elegance and harmony in the palate, where the tannins are very fine, the tastes are subtle but deep and the length is simply phenomenal. It has a medium body, with perfect ripeness and integrated acidity.

This is the most classic among the wines of the portfolio, the most “élevage”, a bit like the wines of yesteryear, but with the current knowledge about winemaking. The wine is made from approximately 70% Tempranillo, 20% Grenache and the remaining 10% between Mazuelo and Graciano, the coolest and highest vineyards, meaning that they only bottle every two or three years. The last years, 2007 and 2008, were not bottled. Fermentation in small oak vats built by his own casks, and delayed the malolactic until the spring, opening the windows so that the outside cold enters the cellar. For aging, each variety goes into separate barrels, from the youngest to the oldest, to complete about 36 months or three years of probation.
