O Produtor, tasting note published in June 15th 2016

Intense ruby red in colour with purple highlights, the wine shows an intense nose of red fruit, along with notes of sweet spice and underbrush. On the palate, the flavours are fresh and vibrant with supple and balanced tannins. The finish and aftertaste are long and sustained.

Antinori Tignanello

Delicate vineyard work – leaf removal and crop thinning – together with careful hand selection of the bunches during harvest operations ensured the fermentation of high quality grapes with plenty of varietal personality. During fermentation in conical stainless steel tanks, extreme attention was paid to an extraction aimed at fresh and fragrant aromas, full colour, and supple and elegant textures and tannins. Once the wine had been drained at the end of fermentation, it underwent a full malolactic fermentation in oak barrels to fully enhance the delicacy and expressiveness of the aromas. The ageing process, which lasted approximately 12-14 months, then began and took place in 60-gallon French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly used once before. The various batches, fermented separately variety by variety, then finished their ageing and were blended a few months before bottling.
